alani nu

Alani Nu – is a vibrant health and wellness brand focused on empowering your every move. Alani Nu provides consumers with a wide range of better-for-you products, perfectly balanced to support their goals and treat their taste buds.

Why alani nu needed mobile application?

Problem

Alani Nu’s healthcare app lacked a shop feature, forcing customers to switch to their website for purchases, disrupting user experience. Additionally, users needed a tool to track supplement usage and adherence effectively.

Agitate

The lack of in-app shopping led to a fragmented experience, risking user drop-off. Furthermore, customers lacked a seamless way to manage their supplement intake, reducing adherence to health routines.

Solution

Integrate an intuitive e-commerce feature within the app to streamline purchases and design a unique medicine tracker for monitoring supplement intake, enhancing convenience and user engagement.

User Personas

I developed user personas for three primary user groups (frequent shoppers, health enthusiasts, and new users) to ensure our solution was user-centric and addressed the most significant pain points across all user types.

Based on the research results I decided to refine the project’s objectives to focus on intuitive navigation for the shop and a visually engaging tracker to support daily adherence.

Brainstorming

I held brainstorming sessions with the marketing team, generating over 20 feature ideas for the shop and medicine tracker. I narrowed down options using the MoSCoW framework (Must-have, Should-have, Could-have, and Won't-have).

After that, I sketched low-fidelity wireframes for the top concepts, such as a product categorization feature, smart reminders, and visual consumption progress. I assessed the flow using Nielsen’s heuristics and tested its compliance with usability standards.

Finalized the design concept, featuring a tabbed navigation system, an easy checkout process, and a medicine tracker with smart reminders and progress visualization.

Prototyping

I designed a mid-fidelity prototype integrating the shop and tracker using Figma to test the functionality and user experience of the proposed solution before investing in full development.

It helped me to highlight user flows for the shop (from browsing to checkout) and the tracker (from setup to daily usage), ensuring a smooth, intuitive experience.
